Many people crave the opportunity to actually work from the comfort of their own home. However, with so many scams lurking out of the internet, users are unable to differentiate a legitimate opportunity from a scam. There are actually a lot of work-at-home scams out there on the Internet. Just try Googling for such an opportunity and you would get what I mean.
As such, I would like to give an example of one such product. It is called Yourjobpay.
EDIT (05 Sep 14): Website has been taken down already. This is a scam website, and there are many other websites out there that look similar, so be wary of the classic template I describe below.
Yourjobpays – A classic template
Recently, someone tried to refer me to this website that promises a lot of money when people click your referral link. Why do i call it a classic template? This is due to the reason that this website style have been recycled many times through so many different names, with Yourjobpay being one of them.
There are many other websites with the same template but under different names. Here are 5
examples of such clones below (Some websites may be taken down already):
jobandpay.com
deepprofit.com
gopaidweekly.com
refer2money.com
themonthlyjob.com
From the moment I opened the website, I knew it was a scam. Take a look at it for yourself and tell me it doesn’t look suspicious. Here are some questions that are running through my mind the moment I land on this page
- Join bonus $25? Who pays you $25 just to join a website?
- 30 seconds to earn $10? That is way too easy for so much money.
- The template looks too simple.
- Are the testimonials even real?
The basic rule to follow: If it looks too good to be true, it usually is. For this website, all you need to do is refer people to click your referral link and direct them to the website, with every unique click giving you $10.
The problem is:
- What is the point of the website?
- Why are you referring people to it?
- How do the company make money?
- How are they paying so high?
With all these questions, I just had to take a look at the FAQ and see what they have to say.Feel free to click the picture to view a bigger resolution of the FAQ!
The FAQ pretty much doesn’t answer any question still. Why would advertisers pay the website any money for generating traffic to the company’s website in the first place? It really just doesn’t make sense, and doesn’t adds up as well. There is also no Privacy Policy and Terms of Condition for using such a website too, which means they could potentially sell all your personal information for money as well.
The last thing I checked out was their ‘Support’
All that was listed is one pathetic email. No phone support, no live chat, just one email. It doesn’t
explain anything or try to resolve your problem with any self help information too. Why would anyone do business with a company that does not even attempt to provide any support at all?
One last thing, you can actually ‘cash out’ from the website. But once you try to do so, the website will try to ‘verify’ that you are a real human by asking you to do a survey. However, you will be going through a whole loop doing surveys after survey, until you realize that this was a scam all along. If you really want to do surveys, you can actually check out my list of recommended surveys which you could actually earn money from.
Take a look at some evidence of people trying to cash out and the result.
What other people are saying
Don’t take it from me only. Here are some comments and information that people are actually saying about our example, Yourjobpays.
Take a look at what this video owner did. At first he was advertising for the site, which he later on deem it was a scam and thus the overlay over the video. Some comments from the videos include questions I have already questioned before, and the results of trying to cash out:
“How the hell do I actually get the money out of there though? I have $425 I would like to have…. Anyone have a way around all this?”
“Hey how do you get past all those surveys. I finish one a billion more pop up. I’m also doing it on my cell phone do I have to do it on a computer”
“I got to the pay out amout of 300 needed and can never get past the survey complete waste of time”
Also, take a look at the picture above, which is from a user from complaintsboard.com. The user stated that he or she was not getting any withdrawal form but only doing different surveys.
Lets see the statistics here: 50 complaints from End March to start of June. That is effectively about 2 months to get 50 complaints. Any legitimate business that actually get that many complaints in such a short period of time would really be in deep trouble.
But for such a scam, this is really normal.

SCAM! NOT RECOMMENDED!
Final Thoughts
With that said, many people are searching for that perfect work at home opportunity. As such, there are many companies that are taking many gullible users on a ride, such as Yourjobpay. I have seen way too many clones of this sites, even including the recent ‘steam wallet card’ scam (Steam is an online gaming platform).
I have seen many friends posting referral link to that scam website that promises free steam gift cards. The result was the same as Yourjobpay, a loop of endless surveys.
With such an obvious scam site, people can still fall prey for such a website. The reason is they are hoping that it would be the thing that works, or the lifetime opportunity they are looking for. Sadly, all these websites would probably bring them a lot of frustration and time wasted.
If you are not sure whether if it is a scam or not, follow these golden rules which I covered some in my tips to avoid scams guide:
- Never pay anything for a work-at-home opportunity! Chances are, you won’t see the money again.
- Check their Privacy Policy and Terms of condition. If there isn’t any, run far away.
- Search online for more information and what other users are saying.
- If you see a money-back guaranteed, chances are it is a scam. They can promise you your money back, but would not deliver on it.
- If it looks too good to be true, it usually is.
The bottom line is, use your due diligence before acting on anything! Consult your friends or families or even the internet if you are in doubt.
I am also available here if you ever need any assistance with such a thing! If you are suspicious of anything that looks like a scam, you can report it under my report a scam section as well and I will do my best to help you.
What’s next?
If you are still reading in hope of finding a legitimate work-at-home opportunity, you’re in luck! I have personally been working with a website called Wealthy Affiliate which teaches people how to build their own online business. It is not a get rich overnight scheme and requires some hard work in order to make it work.
Even if you are new, Wealthy Affiliate would guide you on a step-by-step process on setting up your own website and educating you with the knowledge of monetizing your own website as well! The best part of it is that it is free to start, and you are even given 2 free websites to work with when you begin!

Thank you for the very thorough review of this scam. It’s great to know, and I will surely stay away from this one! I have fallen for many scams in the past but getting better at noticing. Thank you for pointing out the recycled use of the template – thinking about it after you pointed it out and have noticed this template MANY times!

Hi Lori,
Thanks for the comment. I am glad you are getting better at spotting scams too! However, I definitely want to educate more people on this subject, especially with so many people falling for such an obvious scam site with a recycled template.
Montie says
Thanks for the heads up on another online scam! So nice to not worry about that at Wealthy Affiliate!
Best wishes!

Hi Montie,
I agree! Many of us have gone through the Internet trying to find something that works, going through all the scams, until Wealthy Affiliate showed up. At least for me, that was the thing I knew which was legitimate.

There are just so many of these work from home scams nowadays. It’s awful to think that some people are falling for them and getting conned out of their hard earned money. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Terence says
Hi Jason,
Exactly, I have seen way too many people falling for these scams including some of my friends as well. It is really awful indeed. Hopefully, people could see through such scam sites easily with more knowledge too.
Craig says
Very good review here, I got sick of getting scammed online. It destroys your confidence to actually make money online. So I took a different approach to finding good programs, and researched them deeply. If you see a couple of bad reviews, it’s safe to say stay away. I even started researching the owners of programs and you can pretty much get an idea, whether they are legit or not. Thanks for the information.
Terence says
Hi Craig,
Thanks for your comment! I’m glad to see that you are pro-active in researching on something before investing your time in it. The more scams you face, the more skeptical you get really.
Denise says
Darn…I’ve been looking for some legitimate ways to make money at home. I guess another “opportunity” bites the dust! Thanks for the information.
Terence says
Hi Denise
Thanks for the comment. You can take a look around my site for more legitimate opportunities if you wish. Just make sure to avoid the scams!
Justin says
Fortunately I never joined up with any sort of scam, I go by the “If it’s too good to be true, it probably is” idea, which saves you from scams like this. I also find excessive use of stock photos quite suspicious lol.
Terence says
Hi Justin,
You are really lucky then not to have fall for any scam so far then. This example I shown here has been recycled so many times already, just under different names, but many people still fall for it.
Latoya says
Wow, Terence! This is a wealth of information; and very helpful at that. I am so fortunate to have stumbled on your website. I will be bookmarking it for future reference. Thanks a million!
Terence says
Hi Latoya,
Thanks for your comment! Check back for more updates in the future!
Michael says
Great article Terence, there are so many scams online that it isn’t funny. Anything from start up now and make $200.00/ day to anything else that requires a large start up fee. It is true, if it sounds too good, it usually is. Keep up the good work.
Michael
Terence says
Hi Michael,
You are right about everything there. Definitely do not trust something that promises quick income so easily.
Cathy says
I’ve been to the scam terrains and made a fool out of myself. Glad I didn’t loose too much. Money needs to be earned through hard work, even if it means working from home. It needs to come from sources that thrive on legitimate business because that’s where REAL people and PROPER ethics can be found. Ditch the get rich dream and start connecting with honest entrepreneurs in Wealthy Affiliate. Period.
Terence says
Hi Cathy,
I can’t agree with you more. Do not expect to get rich overnight, but rather work to get rich in my opinion. WA is a good starting ground for that.
